Second, 1969 marked the first running of the Trans Am edition name tag and would shake things up for both GM corporate managers and the coming law suit from the Trans Am race series circuit. First, two new introductions to the fully functional Ram air design was about to emerge with the Ram Air III and IV, producing 335 and 345 horsepower respectively. Little has changed for the first generation Pontiac in its three year sheet metal production however in 1969 two changes to the F- body car would definitely shake things up. With only 697 of these legendary birds in existence, this car is sure to impress at any car show! In 1967 Pontiac introduced the Firebird line and from very early on it has easily distinguished itself as a separate breed of pony car.
